Château Phélan Ségur - ()

The official history of Phélan Ségur began in 1860 with the merging of 2 privileged vineyards in the appellation of Saint-Estèphe, Clos de Garramey and Clos de Ségur. The 2 properties were bought by the Irishman Bernard Phélan who immediately became the owner of the largest vineyard of the appellation. As usual in Bordeaux, the name of the owner was added to the name of the vineyard, Phélan Ségur was born. The beautiful and static Château itself was realized in the late 1960s by his son, Frank Phélan. In the time that followed, the Phélan family would appropriate even more exquisite chateaux. Brane-Mouton that later became Mouton Rothschild but also Château Lafite that later became Lafite-Rothschild and Château Latour. One should be happier with less. In the course of time, Phélan Ségur changed owners a few times, but since 2017 it is the Belgian Philippe Van de Vyvere (Sea-Invest) who can call himself the privileged castle owner. He committed himself to continue the glorious history of Phélan Ségur. The wine belongs to the absolute top of the appellation. Last 5 years have achieved as the very best scores ever and the future is assured.
